NIGERIA NEEDS AN URGENT INTERVENTION BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE

The sustainability of a nation is hinged on the ability of its leaders to foster a culture of healthy hope for the citizens. One cannot say this is the case in the Nigeria of today. Too many Nigerians are hungry and we have a government that seems not to know how to address this reality. In a nation where tens of millions of Nigerians can no longer feed themselves; where the value of the currency has collapsed; where insecurity has become the state of the union; where corruption has become the rule of law know that the recipe for a bloody revolution has been prepared. It now takes a visionary or an opportunist to lead the people into the Versailles to upend the system for good.

In the past, I hoped and prayed that this may never be our lot as a nation. But now, my hope has no foundation to hinge itself on. I see a nation on a path to self-destruction. I see a leader who is clueless. And I wonder what has befallen the nation.

Bola Tinubu, noticed I did not use any prefix to address you, do not become the King Louis XVI of Nigeria. I fear that Nigerians’ patience is no more. Either you figure out how to salvage the nation or call for a referendum to figure out the future of the country. Poverty is now the lot of your people and it must not be this way.

Freeze the salaries of all appointees, including yourself, and use that money to help the poor. Call on the National Assembly to rescue the nation. The waste of resources must now be addressed. The endless stealing of the nation’s wealth ought to be addressed NOW before it is too late. I fear that you may not have a country to govern by the end of the year if things continue the way they are. I am praying that I am wrong.

Will Nigeria survive this current situation? I do not know. Enjoy!

  1. Well, I have always argued for a national dialogue hinged on frank discussion. The structures of the country are faulty and so, our pitiable condition
