Too often, we pray for satisfaction in what we do and hope to become. We want to be comfortable. This is good. After all, one needs some form of existential comfort in life for life to make sense. However, satisfaction is itself a recipe for staleness and lack of growth. Being too comfortable with what one has can force one to become complacent and settle. Settling is how growth dies in all of us. But if one is to grow, one must embrace the feeling of dissatisfaction. Dissatisfaction is itself a graced-gift for growth if it is embraced with a spirit of openness, passion, and desire to be better. Without dissatisfaction, one cannot embark on the journey of self-improvement. Let us embrace dissatisfaction if we want to better our world and ourselves.
